On 13th February after an excellent dinner at Lasdun Restaurant 22 members of the Society attended a performance of Rattigan’s rarely staged Man and Boy at the Dorfman Theatre directed by Anthony Lau and starring Ben Daniels as Gregor Atonescu and Laurie Kynaston as his son Basil Anthony. Whilst the production’s expressionist setting and strident sound design elicited very mixed reactions, none can have been left unmoved by Daniels’ mesmerising and unrelenting energy.
